In the period from 27 February to 7 March 2026, youth workers, educators, and trainers from Armenia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Romania gathered in Bakuriani, Georgia, for an international training course organized within the framework of the “InnovatorsLab: Gen Z’s Game-Based Peacebuilding” project.
The mobility brought together 25 participants from five countries, creating a dynamic international environment for learning, collaboration, and testing innovative educational approaches designed to strengthen peacebuilding and conflict transformation work with young people.
Testing New Educational Tools
The training course in Bakuriani served as an important pilot-testing phase of the project. Participants had the opportunity to explore and evaluate several of the newly developed educational resources, including:
– The Peacebuilding Guidelines
– The Empathy Cards
– Game-based learning activities and conflict-resolution exercises
– Escape room methodologies designed for peacebuilding contexts
Throughout the training, participants tested the tools in practice, assessed their usability and effectiveness, and provided detailed feedback for further improvement.
The activity also focused on evaluating the accessibility and functionality of the e-learning platform across different devices and internet conditions, ensuring that future users can easily access and benefit from the project’s resources.
Learning Through Experience
Using non-formal education methods, simulations, role-playing activities, group work, reflection sessions, and practical workshops, participants explored how game-based approaches can help young people develop empathy, critical thinking, communication skills, and conflict-resolution competences.
The international setting allowed participants to exchange experiences from different cultural and social contexts, discuss challenges faced by youth in their communities, and explore innovative ways to foster dialogue, understanding, and peaceful coexistence.
Impact and Next Steps
The feedback collected during the mobility will directly contribute to the refinement of the project’s educational tools and methodologies. The insights gathered from participants will help ensure that the final resources are practical, user-friendly, and effective for youth workers, educators, and organizations working in the field of peacebuilding.
By combining innovative learning methods with international cooperation, the “InnovatorsLab: Gen Z’s Game-Based Peacebuilding” project continues to develop new approaches that empower young people to become active contributors to peace, dialogue, and social cohesion in their communities.
The project demonstrates how game-based learning can become a powerful tool for engaging Generation Z and supporting meaningful learning experiences around some of today’s most important social challenges.
